I Did It My Way Chili

8 oz. dry red kidney beans
8 oz. dry black beans
12 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped red pepper
12oz. vine ripened diced tomatoes
1 lb. 80/20 grass feed beef (hamburger meat)

Soak red and black beans in 6 cups of cold water for 6 to 8 hours.
Drain and rinse beans.
In an adequate size saucepan cook beans in 6 cups of water with salt, black pepper, 3 teaspoons of chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin powder, onion, and peppers for 90 minutes on medium heat (5). Stir occasionally.
In a separate pan, combine ground beef and 1 teaspoon of chili powder and cook until beef is browned.
Add browned beef and tomatoes to the bean mixture.
Reduce heat to medium low (3). Cook covered for 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
Return heat to medium (5). Cook uncover for 30 minutes stirring often.
Allow to cool some before serving.
