It was a day like any other day and like no other day before or after. A man named Jesus was held under arrest by the religious leaders in Jerusalem. He was taken from one political leader to the next in the region. He was mocked, lied about, spit on, blind folded, beaten, questioned, and sentenced to die. A man born of the power of the Most High God, who had healed the sick and set the captives free was Himself a prisoner of the greed and fear of others. He walked through the streets carrying the wood that would be His death bed, so beaten that He needed help to make it all the way to the top of a the hill. As a dying declaration He said, “Forgive them,” and “It is finished.” A God who could not die, died the death of a man named Adam and set us all free.
