Stepping Stones

These are tidbits of my journaling from devotional times. They are not intended to tell you what to think, but to go along with you as you think. They have been setup in numbered readings using “Day” as the prefix identifiers rather than a calendar date. This was done so the reading is not tied to a particular calendar day. You can start reading any day you choose. You can start on January 1 and read one a day for 365 days, if you so choose. It is all up to you. Be free and have fun!

This is for someone out there who is hurting and feels there is little or no hope. When I was nineteen I felt like my life was falling in on me – my past was in my face and I could not see a future. One night everything hit me all at once – loss, abandonment, abuse, rejection and anything else the enemy could pile on the stack. In the middle of the night, my beard soaked with tears and my mind spinning in all directions, the form of a man with no physical presence came up behind me and wrapped His arms around me. I heard a comforting voice minister to me. He held me until I went to sleep early in the morning. A few years ago at a small meeting of believers, a man of God was praying for the small group. He came up behind me and put his arms around me, and reminded me of the night God held me. I had never told the event to anyone, and yet he knew. God is real.
